Job description
You will be responsible for completing all activities on the preventive maintenance schedule as specified in hotel plans. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Perform repairs and maintenance on wooden structures, fixtures, fittings, and carpentry elements throughout the hotel
- Inspect and assess damage to determine appropriate repair and maintenance requirements
- Clean all work areas thoroughly after finishing tasks and maintain a professional working environment
- Look after all tools and equipment supplied by the Hotel in a professional manner, ensuring they are correctly maintained and deposited after each shift
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests and work orders from the Hotel management
- Collaborate effectively with other members of the Engineering Department on maintenance and repair projects
- Maintain accurate records of work completed, materials used, and time spent on each task
- Actively participate in the Hotel's energy conservation programmes and suggest cost-saving ideas as and when possible, not limited to the Engineering Department
- Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations and best practices in carpentry work
- Maintain a professional appearance and conduct at all times whilst representing the Hotel
• Must have the appropriate documented training from a technical/vocational institute.
• One year operating experience in a hotel engineering department.
• Good civil or carpentry knowledge.
Full grade twelve school certificate
ZAQUA Certified document is a must.
