Job description
The Payroll and Rewarding Team Leader in the HR Service team in North America is responsible for our US and Mexico payroll and rewarding services and related processes for our Home Comfort division.
You will work in partnership with our HR Business Partners and other Process Owners across the region to ensure that each step in our time administration and pay systems is carried out according to our established policies and procedures while meeting compliance requirements.
General Job Responsibilities
Installing the team, technology, and processes to support the time and payroll systems for the Home Comfort division in North America in a Workday environment
Lead a staff of payroll and rewarding professionals in Costa Rica and the United States, providing coaching, mentoring, and leadership for the teams
Ensure the timely processing of bi-weekly payrolls for 4,000 employees using Workday and Kronos time systems
Ensure all employees are paid accurately, and that any issues are resolved in a timely manner with positive customer service
Manage our internal controls procedures including the appropriate separation of duties within the department, and work with internal and external auditors to ensure audits and requests for data are accurately provided on a timely basis
Ensure the accuracy and timely filing of federal and state withholding as well as support year-end reporting obligations
Represent the HR Service team on critical projects related to system upgrades or other strategic initiatives
Support daily operations and administration of the region's Benefits Programs (Health & Welfare, Retirement, and Leaves of Absences) with a focus on Leaves of Absences
Provide specialized process expertise and interacting directly with associates, internal stakeholders, and suppliers as required to resolve issues
Research and resolve escalated Leaves of Absences inquiries and Health and Welfare issues
Perform multiple audit functions for the region's benefit plans
Recommend and implement process improvements for the region, including automation projects
- Bachelor's Degree
5+ years of HR, payroll, or finance experience, with at least 2 years of leadership experience
Experience with Workday payroll and Kronos time management systems
Demonstrated positive communication, leadership, and customer relations skills
Demonstrated successful project and change management skills and techniques
Demonstrated understanding of federal and state wage and hour laws including FLSA, taxes and withholding requirements, deductions, and garnishments
Knowledge of tax reciprocity rules and regulations for the US and Mexico
Certified Payroll Professional designation (CPP) or equivalent
Ability to communicate clearly and concisely at a professional level, orally and in writing, in English (C1)
