Job Details

You are the momentum.

We need a conceptual leader (~10 yrs exp) who still gets their hands dirty prototyping with Figma, code, and Gemini tools. Your mission? Lead a scrappy, high-performing team to invent breakthrough social storytelling in the AI era — starting with tackling a major product launch moment. If you thrive in fluid environments, can influence execs and engineers alike, and carry a healthy disrespect for the impossible, let's talk.

About the Role

This is an embedded contractor role sitting directly inside the client's team — not agency-side. You'll function as an integrated creative and strategic lead, owning end-to-end creative direction for social content in the AI product space. You'll work shoulder-to-shoulder with product marketers, engineers, and executive stakeholders to define what social storytelling looks like in the AI era. The first major assignment: show up at the client's flagship launch moment in a way that breaks through. That means moving fast, thinking big, and building tangible things — not decks.

What You'll Do

  • Set creative vision and strategy for social-first storytelling across AI product launches and cultural moments
  • Lead and mentor a small, senior cross-functional team — creative directors, strategists, and producers — with clarity and conviction
  • Prototype and build concepts hands-on; you sketch alongside the team, not just above it
  • Own the client relationship at a senior level: present ideas, defend creative decisions, and earn trust with both execs and engineers
  • Drive concepts from insight to execution with speed — this team doesn't wait for perfect
  • Identify AI-native formats and content opportunities before they become obvious
  • Navigate ambiguity and turn it into a creative advantage

Who You Are

  • ~10 years of experience spanning creative craft and strategic leadership — you started doing the work and grew into leading it
  • A writer, art director, or creative director at heart who understands that great social storytelling begins with a strong point of view
  • Deeply familiar with the tech/AI product space — you understand what's being built and why it matters culturally
  • Experienced leading creative inside or alongside large technology companies; in-house or embedded experience strongly preferred
  • A confident, empathetic communicator who can earn the room with a CMO and a product engineer in the same meeting
  • Social-native: you know the platforms, the culture, and what actually performs
  • Hands-on with modern tools — Figma, generative AI, whatever gets the idea out of your head and onto a screen
  • You have a strong point of view and aren't afraid to defend it — but you know when to evolve it
  • You know how to work with ambiguity and quick changes that large technology companies constantly have, and you can deal with it with a great personality
  • You are a go getter, you are creative, you know how to lead your team successfully, and you get along easily with other departments. You are firm when you need to, but know how to put out great successful campaigns on time.
  • You have successfully managed several social campaign launches for agencies or big tech.

Nice to Have

  • Experience working embedded inside a client organization or in-house brand team
  • Background in or passion for developer / tech audience marketing
  • Familiarity leading work around tentpole events, product launches, or live cultural moments
