Senior Communications Advisor

We are seeking a Senior Communications Advisor to lead the development and execution of high-level communication strategies. This role requires a professional capable of managing sensitive information and translating complex technical goals into compelling narratives for philanthropists, board members, general public, and the global scientific community.

The successful candidate will ensure that every touchpoint, from social media to executive presentations, reflects LawZero’s commitment to safe-by-design AI and its position as a global public good.

Key responsibilities

Accountability

• Provide high-level input to the marketing/communications strategic plan and support its deployment
• Support and work in tandem with the VP, Marketing and Strategic Communications
• Work effectively with key external stakeholders including media, consultants, agency.
• Develop and implement communications strategies to achieve the organization deliverables

External communications & content development

• Develop and draft high-impact external materials, including press releases, newsletters, event programs, and executive letters.
• Oversee all distributed communications to ensure consistent brand messaging and a unified organizational direction.
• Bridge the gap between technical research and mission-driven storytelling for high-stakes stakeholders.

Internal communications & talent support

• Develop and execute internal communication strategies to ensure the team remains informed, engaged, and aligned with LawZero’s evolving strategic roadmap.
• Curate and manage internal programming, including panels and round tables featuring external experts to foster knowledge sharing and global connectivity.
• Partner closely with the Talent Team to enhance employer branding and recruitment marketing, helping to attract and retain world-class researchers and professionals.
• Support the Talent Team with internal announcements, culture-focused content, and documentation that reinforces LawZero’s values and mission.

Digital strategy & Platform Management

• Maintain LawZero’s social media platforms
• Participate in the maintenance and content strategy of the LawZero website to ensure information is current and impactful.
• Undertake special projects and assignments as required by the leadership team.

Day-to-day

• Work closely with the VP, Marketing and Communications Strategy to align all activities with mission delivery.
• Manage strict timelines and project delivery for multiple concurrent initiatives.

Skills and qualifications

• Education: Communications, Public Relations, Public Affairs, or a related field.
• Experience: 7+ years of relevant professional experience, or a combination of education and experience that contributes directly to the position.
• Exceptional writer and know how to connect with different audiences and adapt your tone accordingly in both English and French.
• Discretion & precision: An ability to work with a high level of accuracy and manage sensitive or confidential information with total discretion.
• Results-driven: Proven ability to manage projects from conception to completion in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience in stakeholder engagement involving philanthropists, the government, and the public.
