Trading Manager – Specialty Coffee

Summary

Responsible for leading a team across departments, for sourcing, trading, and managing relationships across the specialty coffee value chain. This role requires deep market understanding, strong leadership skills, brand building competence, supplier engagement, quality oversight, and commercial execution to ensure performance as well as risk management. 
 

Key Responsibilities

• Develop a business plan and budgets in line with company goals
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key business partners (producers, exporters, roasters, etc) in the Specialty coffee landscape with specific emphasis on expertise within the German and adjacent destination markets
• Source and trade specialty coffee from origin countries in line with quality and sustainability standards as well as customer expectations
• Follow global coffee market trends, price movements, and supply dynamics while contributing to Sucafina’s internal knowledge base
• Manage inventory positions, logistics coordination, supply planning, and all other executional components of a successful trading operation
• Manage risk exposure related to price volatility, currency fluctuations, and supply disruptions
• Represent Sucafina well at industry events, in online forums, and in other professional venues

• 5+ years of experience in green coffee trading, commodity trading, coffee sourcing, or specialty coffee commercial roles.
• Strong understanding of the global specialty coffee supply chain, including producers, exporters, importers, roasters, and logistics providers.
• Demonstrated commercial experience in the German market 
• Strong negotiation, relationship management, and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Solid knowledge of coffee market fundamentals
• Excellent communication skills in English; German highly preferred.
