Job description

Mars Capital is seeking an experienced and commercially focused Senior Manager – Qualified Solicitor to join its Legal function in Dublin.

This role will support the business across legal, regulatory, and governance matters, with a focus on credit servicing, loan portfolio management, and financial services regulation.

The successful candidate will act as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders, managing legal risks and supporting business growth and operational excellence

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic legal advice across credit servicing, loan portfolios, restructuring, and enforcement activities
  • Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of agreements, including commercial contracts, servicing agreements, NDAs, and third-party contracts
  • Support the business in navigating the Irish regulatory framework (e.g. Central Bank of Ireland requirements)
  • Advise on consumer protection, compliance, and conduct risk matters
  • Partner with senior stakeholders across Risk, Compliance, Operations, and Asset Management teams
  • Identify and mitigate legal and regulatory risks in line with business objectives
  • Manage relationships with external counsel and oversee legal spend
  • Contribute to internal governance frameworks, policies, and procedures
  • Support strategic projects including portfolio acquisitions, disposals, and integrations
  • Support business units on product development, distribution and operational compliance

Key Requirements

 

  • Qualified Solicitor in Ireland
  • 5–10 years’ PQE, with strong experience in financial services, banking, or credit servicing (in-house experience desirable)
  • Solid understanding of loan documentation, secured lending and enforcement processes
  • Experience working within a regulated environment (ideally interacting with the Central Bank of Ireland)
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to balance legal risk and business needs
  • Excellent drafting, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

 

Desirable Experience

  • In-house experience within a credit servicing firm, bank, or asset manager
  • Exposure to loan portfolio transactions (NPLs / distressed assets)
  • Familiarity with Irish consumer protection and mortgage arrears frameworks
  • Experience supporting audits or regulatory inspections
