What We Offer Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) Location: Winston-Salem area (onsite at employer-based clinics and community events) Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm (some earlier mornings or Saturdays required for the occasional community events) Deliver Care Where Patients Work, Learn, and Live At Novant Health, our Employer Solutions team brings care directly to the workplace and community. As a Certified Medical Assistant in this role, you won’t be in a traditional clinic setting—you’ll support onsite wellness clinics, occupational health services, and community events across the Winston-Salem area. This is a dynamic, hands-on, and versatile role. You’ll work alongside providers to deliver accessible, efficient care while building meaningful patient interactions in nontraditional settings. Unique Care Model: Provide care in employer-based and community settings Team-Based Care: Work closely with providers and clinical leadership Community Impact: Improve access to care for local employees What You’ll Do Support onsite wellness clinics embedded within employer locations Support occupational health services and community health events Assist with episodic and primary care Perform point-of-care testing (i.e., phlebotomy, specimen collections, drug screens, physicals, etc.) Prepare patients, take vital signs, and manage intake workflows Assist with clinical documentation and EMR updates Float between locations as needed to support coverage and patient demand What We’re Looking For BLS certification, highly preferred Phlebotomy experience, highly preferred Education: High School Diploma or GED, required. Candidates will provide proof of current certification from one of the approved certifying registries including: • CMA with the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) • CCMA with the National Health Career Association (NHA) • RMA with the American Medical Technologists (AMT) • American Registry of Medical Assistants (NHCWA) • National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) • National Association for Health Professionals (NAHP) • American Allied Health (AAH) RMA with the American Registry of Medical Assistants (ARMA). If a candidate is not currently certified, they must obtain certification or registration by the end of the sixth month of their hire and sign an education agreement. Experience: Previous work in a medical office, preferred. Licensure/Certification: Current certification, or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire as CMA, RMA or CCMA, required. Current State Drivers License (Palliative Care Only), required. Additional skills required: Ability to successfully complete generic and department specific skills validation and competency testing.
