Job Summary:
The Regional Sr. HR Manager oversees and directs all HR operations at their assigned site (San Diego or North Carolina) within the U.S. Region. Serving as a key internal HR liaison, this role delivers a range of HR services and consultative support to internal stakeholders, while working closely with and under the guidance of the Sr. HR Director.
This is an onsite position based in Kannapolis, NC.
Responsibilities:
Provide strategic oversight of HR operations across multiple U.S. business units, ensuring alignment, consistency, and organizational impact.
Partner with the Sr. HR Director to design and execute HR strategies that align with business objectives, industry best practices, and long-term workforce planning.
Support the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of HR programs across payroll and benefits, recruitment, employee relations, performance management, and compliance.
Serve as a trusted advisor to the Sr. HR Director and senior leadership, influencing organizational design, workforce decisions, and business strategy.
Assess complex, high-risk, and ambiguous business challenges; identify root causes and establish strategic direction for resolution.
Drive enterprise-level initiatives in leadership development, succession planning, workforce planning, and cross-functional collaboration to support future business needs.
Lead large-scale change management initiatives across U.S. regions, supporting varying levels of organizational maturity and transformation.
Collaborate with other HR Managers and broader HR teams to build organizational capability, provide mentorship, and strengthen HR effectiveness across the organization.
Leverage data and analytics, including monthly and ad hoc reporting, to generate workforce insights and inform strategic decision-making.
Oversee and optimize HR vendor relationships, including payroll and benefits providers, ensuring service quality, cost-effectiveness, and alignment with organizational needs.
Support HR Leadership and cross-functional stakeholders to design and implement high-impact HR initiatives across the enterprise.
Ensure the effective delivery and continuous enhancement of HR services, including compliance, compensation strategy, talent acquisition, and employee experience.
Champion operational excellence by establishing scalable processes, advanced analytics, and best-in-class HR and recruiting standards.
The Sr. HR Manager is responsible for ensuring adherence to safety, regulatory, and HR compliance requirements, as well as supporting business continuity programs. This includes oversight of Workers’ Compensation processes and ensuring that safety programs and standard operating procedures (SOPs) are consistently followed across the organization.
Support communication and alignment across all business units, acting as a strategic liaison to ensure consistency in HR practices.
Participate in occasional evening or weekend work, with responsibility for domestic and international travel as required.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree preferably in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field or equivalent professions experience in HR Management
15+ years of progressive HR responsibilities and supervisory experience
Employee Relations: Conflict resolution, investigations, performance management
Communication: Clear, diplomatic interaction across all levels of the organization
Leadership & Influence: Ability to guide managers, employees and shape company culture
Compliance Knowledge: Strong knowledge of State/Federal employment laws and regulations
Confidentiality & Ethics: Handling sensitive employee data responsibly
Problem-Solving: Addressing workplace challenges quickly and fairly
Project Management: Managing HR initiatives like onboarding programs or policy rollouts
Emotional Intelligence: Navigating sensitive interpersonal situations. Demonstrates cultural awareness and inclusivity, with the ability to represent the company effectively across diverse environments and communities.
Preferred Requirements:
Multi-national Life Science/Pharma/Chemistry industry experience/fast-paced multi-site environment highly preferred.
Professional certifications such as Society for Human Resource Management-CP/SHRM-SCP or PHR/SPHR a plus.
Working Conditions and Expectations:
Ability to work occasional evenings, weekends, or holidays as business needs require (e.g., employee relations issues, urgent investigations, organizational changes)
Availability for on-call HR support in critical situations
Work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with shifting priorities
Frequent interaction with employees at all levels, including handling high-stress or sensitive situations
May require travel to other office locations or sites (if applicable)
Combination of office-based and remote work depending on company policy
Extended periods of sitting, computer work, and meetings
Primarily office-based onsite (Monday - Friday), with a mix of in-person and virtual interactions via Teams or Zoom.
