Highways Linear Engineer (Safety & Road Markings)

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Highways Linear Engineer specializing in Safety and Road Markings to join our infrastructure team in Doha, Qatar. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining highway safety systems and road marking solutions that meet international standards and local regulatory requirements. You will work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to ensure the highest levels of road safety and operational efficiency across linear highway projects.

• Design and develop road marking systems and safety specifications for highway projects, ensuring compliance with international standards and local regulations in Qatar
• Conduct safety audits and risk assessments on existing and proposed highway infrastructure to identify potential hazards and recommend mitigation strategies
• Prepare detailed technical drawings, specifications, and design documentation using CAD and design software
• Analyze traffic patterns and safety data to optimize road marking layouts and safety feature placement
• Coordinate with contractors and construction teams to ensure proper implementation of safety and marking specifications on-site
• Monitor and inspect road marking installations and safety systems to verify quality and adherence to design standards
• Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation of safety protocols, marking standards, and project specifications
• Collaborate with traffic engineers and safety consultants to integrate best practices in highway safety design
• Organize and manage project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation for safety and marking initiatives
• Stay current with evolving safety standards, marking technologies, and industry best practices

• Proven experience in highway design, linear infrastructure projects, or road safety engineering
• Strong knowledge of road safety standards, traffic engineering principles, and pavement marking specifications
• Proficiency with CAD software and design tools for creating technical drawings and specifications
• Experience with GIS software and traffic simulation tools
• Solid understanding of road marking materials, application methods, and durability requirements
• Familiarity with safety audit procedures and risk assessment methodologies
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail
• Ability to organize complex projects and manage multiple deliverables simultaneously
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
• Knowledge of Middle Eastern highway standards and regulations (preferred)
• Professional certifications in traffic engineering or highway safety (preferred)
• Experience with safety management systems and compliance documentation
