What you'll do...

About the team:
The UPP Payments team develops and maintains a scalable, fault-tolerant distributed payments platform that supports critical transaction processing at enterprise scale. Operating at the intersection of cloud-native architecture and regulated payment systems, the team tackles challenges in resiliency, traffic routing, certification, and observability. Engineers design distributed services, implement intelligent routing and fallback mechanisms, and ensure platform stability during peak loads and failure scenarios. The team values technical ownership, engineering rigor, and operational excellence, fostering leadership growth as the platform expands across markets.
What you'll do:
- Analyze and classify requirements, including functional and non-functional, to align solutions with business objectives.
- Assist in designing scalable, secure software architectures and detailed component-level designs.
- Develop, review, and maintain code adhering to standards, ensuring high availability and maintainability.
- Lead code reviews and implement telemetry features to monitor application performance and security.
- Drive automation of repetitive tasks within CI/CD pipelines to enhance development efficiency.
- Develop and execute comprehensive test strategies, including automation and defect management.
- Monitor project progress, report metrics, and manage risks to ensure timely delivery.
What you'll bring:
- Proven expertise in software architecture, design patterns, and cloud-native solutions to develop scalable, secure applications.
- Strong proficiency in coding languages such as JavaScript and Python, with experience in frameworks and platforms including Microsoft Azure and Apple iOS.
- Experience conducting design reviews, API design, and software prototyping to ensure alignment with business requirements.
- Knowledge of DevOps engineering, CI/CD pipelines, and automation scripting to enhance development efficiency and reliability.
- Ability to analyze requirements, perform risk assessments, and translate business needs into detailed technical designs.
- Skilled in driving telemetry implementation and monitoring application performance for continuous improvement.

Sunnyvale, California US-11657: The annual salary range for this position is $143,000.00 - $286,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include :
