Job description

CDL Driver | Nox Metals | Detroit, MI

American factories deserve a supply chain that moves as fast as they do. The next generation of American manufacturing is being built right now. Nox Metals is the supply chain behind it.

Nox Metals is a technology company in Detroit supplying aluminum plate, bar, and rounds to aerospace and defense manufacturers. We use software and automation to supply metal to American factories faster than the industry thought possible.

We need a CDL Driver to move material between mills, our facility, and customers across the Midwest and beyond. The driver is the last mile of our promise to customers. Nox Metals is an employer with real opportunity for long term career growth, this is a place to build a career, not just hold a job.

You will

  • Run a mix of local Detroit metro routes and occasional longer hauls when the job calls for it
  • Operate flatbed for plate and bar loads and box truck or dry van for packaged shipments
  • Load, secure, and tarp material to spec, every load is a customer's deadline on wheels
  • Pick up inbound material from mills and suppliers and verify against purchase orders
  • Deliver finished goods to customers and represent Nox at every dock you back into
  • Run forklifts and overhead cranes when loading and unloading
  • Record pickups, deliveries, and pre-trip inspections in our software systems, accurately, every time
  • Keep the truck clean, maintained, and inspection-ready
  • Always ask questions, never guess when something is unclear
  • Look at every route and figure out how to make it better
  • Work safely every shift and hold your teammates to the same standard
  • Say hi and become friends with your local shipment customers

You are

  • A licensed CDL driver, Class A or Class B, judged on capability and clean driving record
  • Experienced hauling on flatbed and in dry van or box truck
  • Skilled at load securement, tie-downs, tarping, and weight distribution
  • Committed to safety, you follow every protocol, wear your PPE, and never cut corners that put people at risk
  • High attention to quality, every load, every BOL, every delivery
  • Always thinking about how to make processes better, you do not accept "this is how we have always done it"
  • Absolutely customer obsessed, when you pull up to a customer's dock, you are Nox
  • A team player with a good attitude, you make the shift better for everyone around you
  • Someone who takes ownership, if it is your truck, it is your responsibility
  • Precise under pressure and reliable, customers schedule their day around your ETA
  • Comfortable with software, we track everything digitally and you will too
  • Organized and detail oriented
  • High agency, you handle big items alone and ask for help when needed
  • Low ego, you load, you drive, you unload, you do whatever the job needs
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs and handle physical loading work
  • Not afraid to work outside normal hours when America demands it
  • Never says "that's not my job"

Nice to have

  • Experience hauling metals, aluminum, or aerospace/defense materials
  • Forklift and/or overhead crane certification
  • Hazmat or TWIC endorsements
  • Comfortable using AI tools to work faster and smarter

This role is full time, in person in Detroit.
