Bring your medical experience and passion for patient care as an Endoscopy Technician at our Banner University Medical Center Phoenix location. In this role, you will have an opportunity to assist in all types of GI, Biliary and Pulmonary procedures. This also includes the opportunity to participate in advanced/interventional Biliary and Pulmonary procedures. Remote procedures are also performed throughout the facility. This is a fast paced, collaborative environment!

Hours per Week: 4-10s | 40hrs
Shift: 0800 start
Schedule: Monday-Friday
On Call: Yes, weekend and holiday rotations required.
Enjoy a flat rate $5/hr for call, $1/hour weekend shift differential and an 18%-night shift differential, when applicable.

POSITION SUMMARY This position facilitates services and provides clinical support with prescribed endoscopic procedures in accordance with department/facility policies, procedures, and protocols.
CORE FUNCTIONS
- Provides or facilitates patient care for patient populations and serves as a resource to staff for technical and clinical support. Assists with direct patient care when necessary.
- Supervises, coordinates, and supports all activities related to the cleaning, disinfection, sterilization, and storage of scopes and reusable devices according to departmental policies and guidelines.
- Demonstrates leadership qualities in support of department needs and collaborates with various departments, outside vendors, and other departments to assure adequate resources, supplies, equipment are available to ensure coordination of safe, efficient patient care management.
- Participates in staff development, orientation, education and evaluation of clinical competencies. Mentors staff to increase clinical, critical thinking and problem solving skills. May participate in employee performance assessments.
- Supports change and assists in the development, interpretation, implementation and evaluation of the process improvement and quality management activities of the department/system. May serve as QA and clinical educator. May coordinate and assist in development of QI/QC projects
- Monitors staff usage and helps control operating expenses within the department budget and patient care guidelines.
- Accountable for the ethical, legal, and professional responsibilities related to imaging practice. This includes maintaining confidentiality of all work information. Adheres to safety policies
- Assures the efficient operation of workflow of the department. Performs prescribed procedures in accordance with established departmental/facility policies and procedures.
- Functions within the Endoscopy department of the assigned facility. Participates on committees as assigned. Internal customers: All levels of endoscopy and nursing management and staff, medical staff, and all other members of the interdisciplinary health care team. External Customers: regulatory and health agencies, patients and family members.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge.
Minimum of two years experience with advanced endoscopic procedures, High Level Disinfection, aseptic technique, endoscopic supplies and equipment, customer service, and computer skills. Must demonstrate excellent organizational, communication and human relations skills.
SGNA and BLS certification required at the time of hire.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Additional related education and/or experience preferred.
