Job description
This position is critical in ensuring the accuracy, consistency, and optimization of data related to manpower requirements (MHRs), skills, tools, and equipment associated with engineering-issued documents.
The Engineering Methods Specialist will play a key role in supporting operational efficiency and data-driven decision-making across the organization.
Responsibilities:
Primary Support Role
- Act as a key support resource for the Fleet Management team.
- Prioritize tasks based on assignments and requests from the Fleet Management to ensure alignment with departmental goals.
Data Oversight & Maintenance
- Assess and be responsible for systems update with accurate information on required MHRs, skills, tools, and equipment.
- Be accountable for continuous oversight of engineering-issued documentation.
Process Analysis & Optimization
- Analyze current maintenance workflows to identify inefficiencies and process constraints.
- Responsible for improvements/revisions to optimize productivity and material usage, methods development and implementation/deployment coordination
- Accountable to review existing methods and procedures to align with best industry practices and operational needs.
- Guide and collaborate with Fleet Management and production teams to ensure methods are practical, efficient, and compliant.
Documentation & Compliance
- Ensure all processes and methods comply with internal quality standards and external regulatory requirements.
- Responsible for the creation and maintaining of engineering, issued technical documentation.
Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities for ongoing improvement in production and maintenance processes.
- Lead or support initiatives aimed at long-term process optimization.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Act as the person responsible to collect and implement engineering, maintenance, and planning teams feedback, to ensure seamless integration of new or revised work instructions.
- Collect production feedback and analyze issues related to mod implementations, inspections, and process deviations.
- College degree or equivalent in a field related to statistics / mathematics / engineering.
- 3+ years of experience in methods engineering, process improvement, or a similar role - preferably in aviation or aerospace maintenance.
- Knowledge of the airline environment is a strong asset.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good knowledge of MS Office software.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Language skills: French / English (bilingual), oral and written*.
- Familiarity with aviation regulations and quality standards (e.g., EASA, FAA, ISO).
- Strong attention to details.
*A good knowledge of French is required for positions in Quebec. The incumbent will be required to communicate and collaborate frequently in English, both orally and in writing, with colleagues, customers, and other stakeholders in Quebec, the rest of Canada, and internationally.
