You are a seasoned leader in the Canadian defence sector with 10+ years’ experience and seeking a national leadership role shaping the strategy and developing a team to deliver significant defence projects and programs.
The ideal candidate is self-motivated, driven, and capable of working both independently and as part of a team. In this impactful role, you will be providing leadership and direction, actively embedding and promoting the purpose, values, and vision of Turner & Townsend.
Key responsibilities
- Be the Director lead of the Defence work stream in Canada, reporting to the Head of Infrastructure Canada.
- Be responsible for determining, developing, and leading positioning strategies for Canadian defence programs in line with overall country strategy.
- Effectively manage risk and commercial returns on defence projects.
- Managing existing client relationships to ensure exceptional delivery outcomes by our team while establishing and executing strategic account plans to build business.
- Identifying and developing key talent to support our defence initiatives, from prospecting to delivery.
- Building trusted relationships with defence and civilian key stakeholders.
- Establishing strong relations with third-party partners to create and deliver successful project outcomes for Canadian Defence clients.
- Undertaking market research and analyzing trends in order to create a comprehensive and strategic plan for business growth.
- Work closely with other national defence leads within Turner & Townsend to share knowledge, lessons learned, project information, and resource knowledge to grow and enhance the defence division globally.
- Represent Turner & Townsend at conferences, working groups, and industry events.
- 10+ years of progressive experience within the defence sector, including consulting, government, military, or industry, with a demonstrated track record of delivering complex programs and projects.
- Strong understanding of Canadian defence procurement processes, including experience working with or alongside organizations such as DND and Canadian Armed Forces.
- Experience shaping, winning, and delivering complex defence programs, including involvement in major pursuits and bid processes.
- Experience working within or alongside the Canadian defence ecosystem (e.g., government, military, or industry); prior senior military officer experience considered an asset.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Public Administration, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
