Job description

INFICON is seeking a strategic and operationally rigorous Materials Manager to lead the ISS Division’s materials planning, inventory strategy, SIOP execution, and planning team leadership within a high-mix, multi-level BOM manufacturing environment. In this high-impact role, you will ensure material availability, optimize inventory and working capital, strengthen planning discipline, and enable on-time customer delivery across a complex global supply chain.

Partnering closely with leaders across Operations, Procurement, Production, Finance, and Supply Chain, you will build the visibility, accountability, and execution capability needed to support faster, smarter decisions across planning and materials management. This is an opportunity to make a visible impact within an innovation-led organization where operational excellence, supply continuity, and customer performance are critical drivers of growth and success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the ISS Division’s end-to-end materials planning and MRP execution, ensuring material availability across finished goods, subassemblies, and component parts while balancing inventory and service levels.
  • Optimize planning parameters, master data, reorder logic, and system settings to improve material flow, planning accuracy, and operational efficiency.
  • Own shortage management, supply risk escalation, and recovery planning to minimize disruption to production schedules and customer commitments.
  • Coordinate intercompany planning and material flows across global INFICON sites to ensure supply alignment and continuity.
  • Lead the monthly SIOP process, ensuring alignment across demand, supply, inventory, and financial plans while supporting a forward-looking 12–18 month planning horizon.
  • Prepare and present executive SIOP updates, highlighting risks, variances, mitigation plans, and key business decisions.
  • Oversee demand planning and forecast integration through the SIOP function, improving forecast accuracy, reducing bias, and strengthening accountability across product families.
  • Lead capacity planning and RCCP analysis to identify bottlenecks, constraints, and mitigation opportunities across labor, materials, and production resources.
  • Define inventory policies, safety stock strategies, and working capital initiatives, including excess reduction, obsolescence mitigation, and right-sizing programs.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing planning organization, fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and analytical rigor.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Operations, Business, or related technical field.

Required Experience

  • 8–12 years of experience in materials management, production planning, or supply chain operations, including 3+ years in a leadership role.
  • Experience managing MRP planning in high-mix, multi-level BOM environments with global supply chains and SAP.
  • Advanced SAP PP/MM expertise, including MRP execution, master data, capacity planning, and production order management.
  • Strong knowledge of SIOP/S&OP processes and experience presenting at executive level.
  • Proficiency in statistical forecasting, demand planning methodologies, and forecast accuracy metrics.
  • Familiarity with RCCP, constraint modeling, and finite scheduling concepts.
  • Advanced analytical skills using Excel and BI tools (Power BI, Tableau).
  • Deep knowledge of inventory management principles, safety stock modeling, and working capital optimization.

Preferred Experience / Qualifications

  • Master’s degree (MBA or Supply Chain / Engineering).
  • Industry experience in semiconductor equipment, precision instruments, medical devices, aerospace / defense, or analytical technologies.
  • APICS CPIM or CSCP; Lean Six Sigma Green Belt desired.
  • Strong communication, facilitation, and cross-functional leadership skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment and drive continuous improvement.

The expected salary range for this position is between $120,000 and $130,000 per year. In addition, INFICON employees are eligible for a profit-sharing bonus with a target of 10%, as well as 401K match up to 8% (vesting schedule). The actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law
