Love working with communities and making funding go further? This role sits at the heart of Council’s community funding, helping local organisations access the support they need to thrive.

You’ll manage community funding rounds from start to finish, compiling the allocation recommendation reports to the Community Grant Allocation sub-committee for consideration, and administer the allocation of all Community Assistance Funds and in line with Council policy. Building strong relationships is key, you’ll collaborate with community organisations, support capability‑building through funding workshops, and help others across Council deliver their own funding programmes.

Day to day you will: 

  • Manage community funding rounds from start to finish, including online applications, assessments, and reporting
  • Be a go‑to person for funding advice, supporting community organisations and Council teams
  • Build and maintain positive relationships across the community sector and within Council
  • Administer grant agreements and reporting, making sure funding is well managed and outcomes are tracked
  • Help design and support other Council community funding programmes, keeping things consistent and fit‑for‑purpose
  • Share funding opportunities and co‑facilitate workshops that build community capability
  • Look for ways to improve funding processes and systems, and get involved in wider community projects as needed

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Brings strong administration experience (3+ years) with excellent organisation, accuracy, and attention to detail
  • Is confident using Microsoft Word and Excel, with a focus on working smarter and improving processes
  • Builds positive, effective relationships and communicates well with a wide range of people
  • Can manage deadlines, juggle priorities, and work across multiple stakeholders
  • Takes initiative, works well independently, and adapts easily to changing demands
  • Holds a full driver’s licence

Ideally, you’ll also have:

  • Experience with community or contestable funding and online grant systems (such as SmartyGrants)
  • Knowledge of funding processes, the not‑for‑profit sector, and community organisations
  • Experience working with funders, including philanthropic and government bodies
  • Strong Excel capability, including spreadsheets and mail merge

Circa $72,512 dependent on skills and experience.
