Position Summary Within a Shared Services Centre (SSC) team responsible for the EMEA legal entities including UK, France, Italy, Switzerland, Germany, Spain, and Sweden: Reporting to the Senior Accountant Energizer Trading Ltd & Spain, and working with the Operational Controllership team, Local Affiliate Finance & Controllership teams, the International Tax group, Outsourcing partners, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Sourcing and Treasury teams to ensure that the Energizer Trading Ltd legal entity is provided with appropriate Controllership support and that all USGAAP, local statutory, legal, and fiscal obligations of the business are achieved. Ensure that all relevant Controllership reporting requirements from European/Regional management and Corporate HQ are met. Responsibilities Financial Accounting and Reporting – For the Energizer Trading Ltd and Energizer Spain legal entity assist with the timely provision of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial information and Management reporting on a local GAAP & US GAAP basis, according to group policies and timetables. Take full end-to-end responsibility for specific tasks within the monthly closing process. Internal Controls – Ensure that internal controls are adhered to enabling the timely detection of fraud and errors, and to mitigate the risk of fraud and errors being committed, thereby ensuring the integrity and timeliness of Financial Accounting information and in safeguarding the company assets. Collaborate closely with the local professional advisors, the Operational Controllership team, local affiliate Finance & Controllership teams, the International Tax group and Outsourcing partners, to assist in the seamless integration of Sourcing, Tax and Financial accounting into the EMEA legal entities books for which responsibility has been allocated. Compliance – Ensure that all supported legal entities comply with all external (Statutes, law, VAT regulations, fiscal, Local GAAP, US GAAP, SOX) and internal (Corporate policies) requirements. Balance Sheet Management – Ensure that adequate processes, controls and reports are in place to enable the business to manage Controllable Working Capital (Receivables, Deflator Accruals, and Other Accruals). Ensure that the balance sheet accurately reflects the assets and liabilities of the company, and that all such balances can be properly reconciled and supported. Processes and Systems – Review and develop existing systems, tools and processes to ensure the following: Internal Controls are effective, the integrity of financial information, and that services provided to the business are efficient and cost effective. Audit, Statutory and Taxation – Participate in the management of the Annual Audit process (Internal and External) to ensure efficient and timely completion and timely filing of all statutory reporting obligations, Returns and Taxation/VAT/Intrastat submissions. Team - Work collaboratively with Finance & Controllership, regional and global management teams to support corporate initiatives. Proactively participate in the sharing of new and innovative practices that enhance efficiency and effectiveness. Participate in ad hoc projects with the Senior SSC Accountant Energizer Trading Ltd & as required. What we are looking for Required Skills and Experience Chartered / Certified Public Accountant (or local equivalent), or extensive relevant experience. Graduate degree with an emphasis on Finance, Accounting and Management (preferred). Have a good level of experience in an accounting role with a Controllership focus A good level of English language skills, both orally and in writing. A good level of numeracy and experience performing quantitative and qualitative analysis Solid accounting and bookkeeping knowledge Good computer literacy is essential together with a good working knowledge of both SAP and Excel Organized, structured, logical, and systematic in their approach Focused on delivering to internal and external deadlines. Good interpersonal skills to establish excellent working relationships with a wide variety of people at all levels. Flexible and adaptable to change in accordance with business needs Good team player, comfortable working as part of a matrix environment Preferred Skills and Experience Experience within an organization of similar size and complexity, ideally gained within an FMCG environment Experience using the SAP ERP system A good understanding of General Ledger Accounting.
