Job description
AECOM is seeking an Inspector to be based in San Antonio, Texas.
Job duties include, but are not limited to:
Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
Responsible for setting own project deadlines and managing time effectively to meet project milestones.
Provides on the job training to new employees and mentors junior inspection staff on best practices and compliance procedures.
Responsible for monitoring conformance to quality, performance, specifications, and/or code requirements by performing inspection duties.
Performs daily field inspections and maintains comprehensive inspection records, documentation, and reports.
Participates in punch lists, testing, and commissioning activities to ensure project completion and handover readiness.
Tracks quality assurance progress and identifies corrective actions for non-conformances.
Provides input to documentation for area and equipment turnovers and prepares final inspection reports.
Verifies material certifications, test results, and supplier documentation to ensure compliance with project specifications.
Coordinates with project managers, contractors, and other stakeholders to communicate inspection findings and resolve field issues.
Maintains awareness of project schedules and budgets, reporting any impacts related to quality or inspection concerns.
Ensures compliance with safety regulations and OSHA requirements on job sites and reports safety hazards or violations.
Minimum Requirements:
HS + 6 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
Valid Driver License required.
Preferred Qualifications:
10+ years of relevant TxDOT construction inspection experience.
TxDOT Site Manager or AASHTOWare Project software experience.
TxAPA Level 1A and 1B certification.
ACI Grade 1 and strength test certification.
