Job description
As the 2nd Shift Production Supervisor (Internal title: HTL Production Supervisor), you will lead safety, quality, and productivity initiatives within our manufacturing facility. Reporting to the Operations Manager, you are responsible for the direct supervision and disciplinary management of production teams, ensuring operational excellence across the Plant.
Schedule: Monday - Friday 3:00 - 11:30 PM
Core Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Talent Development
Direct Supervision: Manage all aspects of personnel, including hiring, performance appraisals, promotions, and disciplinary actions.
Performance Management: Utilize the Global Performance Management System to set annual goals, provide regular feedback, and track staff development.
Training: Identify skill gaps and provide targeted training opportunities to attract and retain high-potential talent.
Administrative Oversight: Manage timekeeping, overtime, vacation scheduling, and labor allocation.
Operational Excellence & Strategy
Workflow Optimization: Alter schedules to meet unforeseen conditions, controlling load factors to maximize capacity and tool utilization.
Inventory & Logistics: Supervise warehouse operations (shipping/receiving, picking/packing) and analyze inventory reports to manage slow-moving or surplus stock.
Metric Ownership: Drive key performance indicators (KPIs) across safety, cost, quality, inventory, and service.
Continuous Improvement: Lead 5S activities, housekeeping, and waste reduction programs to minimize process complexity.
Safety & Compliance
Safety Leadership: Foster a safety-conscious culture through monthly meetings, daily huddles, and active participation in safety initiatives.
Quality Assurance: Execute frequent audits to ensure strict adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and best practices.
Ethics: Model and promote the corporate Code of Business Ethics and Values.
Education & Experience
Education: High School Diploma required; Bachelor’s Degree (Engineering or related field) preferred.
Leadership: 5+ years of production leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
Technical Background: Proven experience in printing processes (HTL, screen press, or graphic printing) is highly preferred.
Core Competencies
Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze operational data to drive daily improvements.
Operational Planning: Proficiency in scheduling, budgeting, and resource control.
Change Management: Demonstrated ability to lead diverse teams through process improvements and continuous improvement initiatives.
Nice to Have
Experience in the aftermarket business sector.
Specific expertise in screen press operation.
The salary range for this position is $66,150 - $80,000 / year.
The hiring base salary range above represents what Avery Dennison reasonably expects to pay for this position as of the date of this posting.
