Are you a high-level troubleshooter looking for a role where your technical expertise keeps the gears of industry turning? We are seeking a Machine Repair Technician to join our 2nd Shift team. In this role, you will be the backbone of our Miamisburg facility, ensuring our manufacturing equipment and structural systems operate at peak efficiency. Your work ensures we continue to deliver the superior quality materials our clients depend on.
Key Responsibilities
Expert Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve complex mechanical malfunctions using technical drawings, manuals, and diagnostic instruments.
Precision Maintenance: Execute comprehensive preventive maintenance schedules and precision machine leveling to maximize uptime and equipment lifespan.
Component Repair: Disassemble, repair, or replace defective parts in pneumatic tools, motors, conveyor systems, and production machinery.
System Installation: Install structural components and lead the setup and calibration of new machinery.
Compliance & Safety: Inspect shop equipment to ensure full alignment with OSHA regulations and maintain a clean, lubricated, and safe work environment.
Technical Foundation: A High School Diploma/GED paired with 3–5 years of hands-on mechanical repair experience. Completion of an apprenticeship or relevant vocational training is highly valued.
Machining Mastery: Proven expertise in setting up and operating lathes, mills, drills, and grinders (including surface grinders) with high precision.
Fluid Power & Math: A strong working knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and the "shop math" (Trigonometry and Geometry) required for precise fabrication.
Tool Fluency: Expert-level command of hand tools and precision measuring instruments.
Problem-Solving Mindset: A logical approach to troubleshooting and the ability to work independently to solve complex technical challenges.
Safety & Physical Agility: Ability to lift up to 50 lb (100 lb as a team), comfort working on manlifts up to 15 feet, and a commitment to a "safety-first" culture.
Collaborative Drive: A communicative team player who thrives in fast-paced, participative environments and is open to overtime to meet production goals.
Physical Requirements:
Movement: May require the ability to stand/walk for up to 80% of your shift, with frequent pushing, pulling, bending, reaching, and squatting 50% of the time.
Lifting: May require the ability to lift up to 50 pounds 50% of your shift.
Environment: May require being comfortable working in an environment with varying temperatures.
