Job Description:
Job Description SummaryThe EEG Technician is responsible for performing Electroencephalogram (EEG) procedures under the supervision of a Registered EEG Technician and/or at the direction of a epilepsy care provider. This position provides care to patients in the hospital and EEG clinics using neuro-diagnostic technologies and through coordination of care with other health care professionals.

Additional Details: Required to take call from 7pm-630am 1-2 times a week with one Saturday call required a month.

Essential Functions
Perform and monitor routine, intermittent, and continuous EEG studies, including real‑time long‑term monitoring
Accurately recognize and document epileptic and non‑epileptic patterns in accordance with ACNS guidelines
Identify EEG changes correlated with clinical behavior and anatomical findings
Operate, troubleshoot, and optimize EEG acquisition systems and montages
Document studies thoroughly in the EMR and assist with study pruning and archiving
Communicate effectively with physicians and care teams for event escalation and patient concerns
Mentor and support fellow EEG technologists as part of a collaborative team
Minimum Qualifications:
EEG Technician (26.48 - 40.87 based on experience)
High School Graduate or GED
BLS Certification or RQI for Healthcare Providers
Availability to work varying shifts which may include nights, weekends, and on-call.
Familiarity with technology including the Microsoft Office Suite
Minimum Qualifications:
Registered EEG Technician (29.14 - 44.94 based on experience)
Current Registered Electroencephalographic Technologist (R.EEG.T) credential or equivalent.
Current Certification for Long Term Monitoring (CLTM).
BLS Certification or RQI for Healthcare Providers.
Licensed in the State of practice if applicable.
Availability to work varying shifts which may include nights, weekends, and on-call.
Familiarity with technology including EEG acquisition systems and Microsoft Office.
