Occupational Health and Safety Specialist/Ergonomist (Associate)

The Boeing Company is currently seeking an Occupational Health and Safety Specialist/Ergonomist (Associate) to join the Environment Health and Safety (EHS) team at the Boeing South Carolina site (North Charleston, SC). 

In this role, you will support the health and safety of our workforce through the application of ergonomics principles. You will take an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to planning, designing, developing, and verifying mitigations for existing and future ergonomic risks in both production and office environments.

The ideal candidate will develop and implement ergonomics programs that align with industry standards, human factors principles, and company design practices. This role will also help foster a culture of safety and well-being by partnering with cross-functional teams across the organization.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Supports the planning, implementation and assessment of occupational health and safety programs and processes.

  • Drafts health and safety programs that provide consistent approaches to risk reduction and compliance.

  • Investigates safety and health incidents and complaints.

  • Conducts ergonomics assessments and recommendations for risk mitigations

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher

  • 1+ year of experience applying ergonomic principles and best practices to support the development, implementation and maintenance of occupational health and safety programs

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Certified Professional Ergonomics (CPE)

Experience in the following areas:

  • ergonomic risk assessment tools

  • engineering tools and technological innovations ( i.e. sensors, exoskeletons, AR/VR)

  • design tools and practices (i.e. digital human modeling, and design software platforms)

  • High level of interpersonal skills to work effectively with others

  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and administer multiple complex & technically complex assignments concurrently

Summary Pay Range: $82,450 - $111,550
