We are seeking a skilled QA Automation Engineer with strong experience in modern web application testing and automation. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in Playwright and hands-on experience testing applications built with React, .NET, and Microsoft PowerApps. Exposure to Python-based automation frameworks, cloud environments, and federal projects—particularly NIH—is highly desirable. The ability to obtain and retain a public trust clearance is required for consideration. This is a hybrid role based in Bethesda, MD.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks using Playwright.
- Build scalable, maintainable test scripts for UI, API, and end-to-end testing.
- Test applications developed with React, .NET, and PowerApps.
- Collaborate closely with developers, product owners, and DevOps teams.
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines using GitHub.
- Analyze test results, identify defects, and track issues to resolution using Jira.
- Support testing efforts in AWS cloud environments.
- Maintain test documentation and artifacts in SharePoint.
- Ensure compliance with accessibility standards, including Section 508
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of QA automation experience
- Strong expertise in Playwright (JavaScript/TypeScript preferred)
- Experience testing React and .NET applications.
- Hands-on experience with PowerApps testing
- Proficiency in Python for automation or scripting
- Experience with GitHub, Jira, AWS, and Entra (Azure AD)
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting NIH or other federal projects.
- API testing experience (Postman, REST clients)
- Knowledge of performance, security, and accessibility (ADA/Section 508) testing
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies
- Experience with Docker and DevSecOps practices
Compensation:
Salary Range: $120,000 – $130,000 annually (commensurate with experience)
