Job Summary:
We are looking for a skilled and motivated Insulation Lead Technician to join our HVAC department. This role is responsible for leading insulation projects related to HVAC systems, ensuring high-quality installation, energy efficiency, and customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate has hands-on insulation experience, can lead a team, and is committed to safety and craftsmanship.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and complete HVAC-related insulation jobs including duct insulation, air sealing, and attic or crawl space insulation.
- Oversee and train insulation technicians and helpers on job sites.
- Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and work orders.
- Ensure proper material usage and inventory tracking for each project.
- Maintain high standards of workmanship and safety in the field.
- Conduct final job site walk-throughs with customers or supervisors.
- Identify issues or improvements that will increase energy efficiency and job quality.
- Coordinate with HVAC Install and Service teams to ensure cohesive project execution.
- Report job status, material usage, and team performance to department leads.
- Ensure compliance with building codes and company quality standards.
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of insulation experience, preferably in HVAC applications.
- Previous experience leading a crew or job site strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of various insulation types (fiberglass, cellulose, foam board, etc.).
- Strong understanding of airflow, duct systems, and building envelope principles.
- Comfortable working in attics, crawlspaces, and confined areas.
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs and use power tools safely.
- Valid driver’s license.

Work Environment: Works in field environments across residential job sites, climbing ladders and navigating uneven surfaces. Regularly works in confined spaces and moves materials up to 50 pounds. Operates hand and power tools and vehicles. Must be able to see, hear, and exchange accurate information with customers and team members. Regular exposure to outdoor weather, noise, and dust.
