Job description

About Esper Esper was founded in 2018 with the mission to empower dynamic and responsive policymaking in Government. Esper’s goal is to align existing data, stakeholders and public policy goals to streamline the policymaking process at all levels of Government. We imagine a world where policymaking is driven by data and insights from all stakeholders and we are transforming traditional bureaucracy into a dynamic and flexible system that encourages innovation and collaboration. Job Description You’ll own positioning, messaging, and go-to-market execution for our category-defining policy and regulatory platform. This is a high-visibility, high-impact role that reports directly to the Director of Marketing. You'll partner closely with Product, Sales, Professional Services, Customer Success, and Marketing to launch new products, sharpen our story across our target government verticals, and arm our revenue teams with the assets and intelligence they need to win in a complex, trust-driven market. The ideal candidate is a versatile AI and SaaS storyteller who can translate technical capabilities into clear value for risk-averse government buyers, thrives in a fast-paced startup environment, and is energized by the chance to build product marketing from the ground up.

What You'll Do Be a critical partner of Product Management to ensure the messaging, positioning, product updates, and other content are in sync internally to Esper and externally to the market. Run product launches end-to-end — Project-manage launches from kickoff to post-launch. Draft launch messaging within our existing positioning and brand frameworks, and produce the sales enablement (decks, playbooks, training, demo scripts) reps need to sell. Become a buyer expert — Conduct customer and prospect interviews, run competitive research, and synthesize what you learn into briefs, updated persona docs, and talk tracks across our government verticals. Produce content that closes deals — Create demo videos, use-case guides, one-pagers, webinars, and GTM playbooks that get used Leverage AI to synthesize a corpus of GTM, company, customer, and market intelligence to inform positioning and messaging decisions, and facilitate collaboration with Product Management. Run the customer proof engine — Interview customers, write outcome-powered case studies and reference content, and maintain a fresh library of ROI stories, peer validation quotes, and reference customers ready for sales to use across every vertical. Keep launches grounded in the Esper story — Make sure new features and products consistently tie back to our platform narrative in every asset—so launches feel like chapters of one story, not isolated drops. Enable the revenue team — Train Sales, SDRs, and CS on our differentiators and competitive positioning. Build and maintain the battle cards, competitive briefings, and objection-handling assets the team actually uses—and surface competitive insight back to GTM team Drive feature adoption — Work with Sales, CS/PS teams to push adoption of features tied to bookings, retention, and expansion. Surface competitive and market data that informs pricing and packaging conversations. Work with modern tools — Use AI, automation, and modern workflows across launches, content production, demos, and enablement. Position the growing Esper ecosystem as the go-to for the public sector and other similar verticals. What You'll Bring 3-5 years of product marketing experience in SaaS (govtech, regtech, legaltech, or other regulated/complex enterprise sales motions are a plus, but not necessary) Hands-on experience supporting product launches end-to-end—messaging drafts, enablement assets, launch logistics, and post-launch tracking Strong writing capabilities — you can take a technical feature and turn it into clear, compelling copy for non-technical buyers (you'll demonstrate this through a short writing exercise during our interview process). Content production experience — you've built decks, demos, one-pagers, and webinars at pace and can ship without a lot of process Comfortable talking to customers — you've conducted customer and prospect interviews and let what you heard shape your work Ownership mentality — you take initiative, work autonomously, and thrive when priorities move quickly Natural collaborator — comfortable working across Product, Sales, SDRs, PS, CS, and Marketing Location This is a hybrid position open to candidates residing in Austin, TX, with a minimum in-office requirement of 3 days per week. Compensation Competitive base salary plus performance-based bonus and equity. Perks and Benefits Being a part of an innovative and collaborative team that will both support and challenge you Significant opportunity for growth and ownership and to shape Esper for the long-term Competitive salary and equity at a growing early-stage company Paid holidays & unlimited PTO Medical, dental, and vision insurance Generous parental & sick leave 401(k) retirement plan with employer match Short/Long term disability & life insurance Flexible spending account (FSA) Work anniversary equity grants Monthly stipend to offset remote work expenses Office equipment allowance Paid Time Off to participate in volunteer/community events
