Operations Engineer (Internal + SaaS)
Clinical Architecture is seeking an Operations Engineer (Internal + SaaS) to join our team in the Indianapolis, IN area. This role is responsible for the implementation, operation, and ongoing support of internally facing systems and Clinical Architecture’s SaaS environments, which support both internal teams and client-delivered solutions.
This position focuses on ensuring Clinical Architecture’s SaaS and internal environments are reliable, secure, scalable, and aligned with product and engineering needs. The Operations Engineer will work closely with Engineering, DevOps, Security, and Client Support teams to enable successful client deployments while not directly managing client-hosted environments.
- This role is based on-site at our Carmel, IN Headquarters, five days a week. While we are an in-office organization, we do our best to offer flexibility when needed, ensuring both work-life balance and uninterrupted business operations.

Responsibilities
- Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot internally managed and SaaS-hosted Clinical Architecture environments.
- Support application deployments across on-premise, cloud, and hybrid infrastructure owned or managed by Clinical Architecture.
- Partner with Engineering and DevOps teams to support build, release, and deployment processes.
- Ensure internal and hosted environments meet availability, performance, and security requirements.
- Serve as a technical escalation point for internal teams related to environment or deployment issues.
- Maintain documentation for internal platforms, deployment patterns, and environment standards.
- Assist with environment readiness to support client implementations and upgrades.
- Participate in continuous improvement efforts related to automation, monitoring, and operational maturity.
Skills
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in relational databases; working knowledge of SQL required.
- Experience with Microsoft SQL Server preferred.
- Experience supporting web services and APIs.
- Basic programming experience in C#, Java, Python, or equivalent languages.
- Familiarity with Windows Server, IIS, and cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, or equivalent).
- Experience working with CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, or environment provisioning preferred.
- Familiarity with healthcare interoperability standards (HL7, FHIR, CCDA) is a plus.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across teams.
- Motivated to continuously learn and expand technical skill sets.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED required; College or University degree preferred.
- 5 years of experience in application implementation, internal platform support, SaaS operations, or equivalent technical roles.
- Experience supporting internally managed or hosted production environments required.
- Experience working with Engineering, DevOps, Infrastructure, or Product Support teams strongly preferred.
