Primary Purpose
The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for supporting and executing a wide range of HR functions, including employee relations, recruitment, onboarding, benefits administration, compliance, and performance management. This role serves as a key point of contact for employees and managers, helping ensure a positive workplace culture and adherence to company policies and employment laws.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Employee Relations
- Serve as a resource for employees regarding HR policies, procedures, and programs
- Address employee concerns, attendance issues, and workplace conflicts
- Conduct investigations and recommend appropriate corrective actions
- Support and enforce company policies and progressive discipline processes
Recruitment & Onboarding
- Lead and execute full-cycle recruitment for hourly manufacturing roles, including sourcing, screening, interviewing, selection, and onboarding
- Support recruitment for salaried positions across professional, technical, and leadership roles, partnering with hiring managers and leadership team
- Facilitate new hire onboarding and orientation programs
- Partner with supervisors to understand staffing needs and reduce turnover
Benefits & Compensation
- Administer employee benefits programs (health, retirement, leave, etc.)
- Assist employees with benefits questions and enrollment
- Support compensation reviews and salary benchmarking
Compliance & Policies
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws
- Maintain and update HR policies, employee handbook, and procedures
- Manage personnel records and ensure data accuracy and confidentiality
Performance Management
- Assist with performance review processes and goal setting in AXCS People
- Support managers with coaching, disciplinary actions, and development plans
Safety & Workers’ Compensation
- Partner with plant leadership to promote a strong safety culture
- Assist with incident investigations and documentation
- Coordinate return-to-work programs and workers’ compensation claims
- Support safety training and compliance initiatives
HR Administration
- Maintain HRIS systems and employee records
- Prepare HR reports and metrics (turnover, headcount, etc.)
- Support payroll processing and audits as needed
Qualifications

Education/Experience
- Associate’s degree in business, Human Resources, or equivalent
- 2–5 years of HR experience, preferably in manufacturing
- Knowledge of state and federal employment laws
- Proven knowledge of principles and practices of Human Resources Administration, including but not limited to policy and procedures, payroll, benefit administration, and regulatory compliance
Certifications and Licenses (Preferred)
SHRM-CP, PHR, or experience with OSHA/safety certifications
