Job description

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Research Assistant in Biostatistics to join our Health Group. In this role, you will contribute to the development of statistical analysis plans, conduct analyses for ongoing studies, and collaborate with researchers and health staff to deliver high-quality outputs. You will also assist in preparing reports and scholarly publications, and support research training activities as appropriate.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in developing statistical analysis plans
  • Conduct biostatistical analyses for research projects
  • Provide statistical advice and support to project teams and Health staff
  • Prepare and contribute to reports and academic publications
  • Support research training activities within the unit
  • Ensure compliance with research ethics, health and safety, and relevant University policies
  • Undertake other duties as reasonably directed by your supervisor

This is a full time, fixed term (12 month) position based at the Griffith University, Brisbane South (Nathan). As Griffith is a multi-campus University you may be required to work across other campus locations.

Griffith University’s sites are located on the lands of the Yugarabul, Yuggera, Jagera, Turrbal, Yugambeh and Kombumerri peoples.

Salary range 
The full-time base salary for a Research Assistant (Grade 1) is in the range of $78,199 - $82,704 per annum, plus 17% superannuation. The total FTE package will be in the range of $91,493 - $96,764 per annum.

About you
To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • A Bachelor Degree in Biostatistics with Honours, or a Coursework Masters in a relevant field (or equivalent combination of qualifications and experience)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience working with statistical software and managing research data
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • A collaborative approach and commitment to professional and ethical standards
