Position Summary The Supervisor will oversee programs, initiatives, and process within Clinical Learning. The Supervisor collaborates to develop, design, implement, and evaluate new and existing programs, initiatives, and processes. Monitors goals and outcomes and implements changes to assure the highest quality and evidence based education for team members. Integrates education principles, evidence based practices, and technology using appropriate adult learning theories to support a culture of learning, patient safety, and quality. Responsibilities Essential Functions • Develops, plans, and evaluates processes for corporate orientation and onboarding. • Collaborates with education leadership to develop, implement, and evaluate clinical learning progress, programs, and/or initiatives. • Designs innovative educational strategies to enhance the learning experience and ensure evidence based practice. • Provides direct supervision, mentorship, and guidance to learners and other members of the Clinical Learning team. • Conducts regular assessment of learner performance and provide constructive feedback for their professional development. • Implement assessment tools and methods to evaluate the effectiveness of Clinical Learning experiences. • Monitor compliance with accreditation standards and regulatory requirements. • Fosters collaboration with key stakeholders to provide updates on initiatives and outcomes. • Express each function using the present tense (plural) and in a manner that describes ongoing responsibilities. Also, be specific about expected outcomes or objectives tied to each function, if possible. • Remember that these functions should focus on what is absolutely essential to the role. • Models effective communication skills • Evaluates department performance and utilizes change management principles as needed to implement process and quality improvement. • Promotes a satisfied, healthy work environment for the workforce by establishing a climate of growth, challenge, and development of team members. • Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards. • Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures. Other Related Functions • Demonstrates knowledge of legal issues, patient rights, and compliance with the standards of regulatory and accrediting agencies. • Mentors the professional development of team members. • Maintains contacts with other organizations and associations for the purpose of keeping current in new developments in the education field. • Able to develop creative solutions and outside the box thinking • Welcomes and seeks out feedback to improve performance • Passionate about serving others well • Seeks out opportunities to create and develop working relationships • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Maintain a positive outlook regardless of situation • Able to provide feedback that is constructive and affirming • Achieves and maintains a high level of emotional intelligence Qualifications Education/Training Graduate degree in nursing, education, health services administration, or health related field required. Bachelor of Science in nursing or bachelor degree in healthcare related field and two (2) years of directly related work experience may substitute for the Graduate degree (in addition to the requirements listed in the Experience section). Licensure/Certification Current licensure in the State of Florida required. National specialty certification in area of practice. Experience Two (2) years education experience required.
