The Role:
We are seeking an experienced Technical Lead to oversee a cross-functional team responsible for platform maintenance and light feature evolution. This role requires a broad understanding of the entire tech stack, the ability to coordinate across frontend, backend, mobile, and DevOps disciplines, and strong communication skills to interface with client stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and coordinate a distributed team of frontend, backend, mobile, and DevOps engineers
- Provide architectural guidance across all layers of the platform
- Drive technical decision-making and ensure alignment with the client’s engineering guidelines and product roadmap
- Conduct code reviews and enforce coding standards and best practices
- Serve as the primary technical point of contact between the delivery team and client stakeholders
- Identify technical risks and proactively propose mitigation strategies
- Facilitate sprint planning, standups, and retrospectives in collaboration with project management
Tech Stack:
- React Native (with limited native modules) for mobile applications
- Next.js (SSR) with React for web frontend
- Sanity (headless CMS) for content management
- TypeScript / Fastify for backend services
- Elasticsearch for personalization and caching
- Redis / Valkey for key-value caching
- GCP infrastructure: Kubernetes and Cloud Run
Required Skills:
- 8+ years of hands-on software engineering experience
- 3+ years in a technical lead or architect role managing cross-functional teams
- Strong proficiency across full-stack JavaScript/TypeScript ecosystems (React, Next.js, Node.js, Fastify)
- Working knowledge of React Native and mobile development workflows
- Experience with cloud-native architectures (GCP preferred) (Kubernetes, Cloud Run)
- Familiarity with Elasticsearch, Redis/Valkey, and headless CMS platforms (Sanity preferred)
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work across US time zones
Nice to Have:
- Prior experience in sports, media, or entertainment platforms
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code
- Familiarity with performance optimization and caching strategies at scale
