Department Overview

We are a fashion focused e-commerce site, Rakuten Fashion. Rakuten Ichiba is a mall-type business that provides a platform for stores to sell their products, on contrast to Rakuten Fashion, which is a direct sales-type business where Rakuten selects and buys brands and products on its own, and handles marketing, sales, shipping, and customer support. This is the site that selects products from Japan's major select stores and brands, and focuses on popular and well-known brands such as nano・universe, URBAN RESEARCH, BEAMS, snidel, and GLOBAL WORK. The number of international brands has been increasing in the last few years. As a business, we are trying to achieve very high mid-term goals and are continuing to make large investments in the following areas.

  • Promote the development of loyal customers through the development and enhancement of smartphone applications.
  • Promote the acquisition of new customers through continuous mass marketing such as TV commercials.

This position is within the consulting sales team for over 100 Rakuten Ichiba stores operated by Rakuten Fashion. You will be responsible for planning various strategies to increase sales for Rakuten Ichiba stores and proposing them to your assigned clients. You will not only acquire know-how in managing Rakuten Ichiba stores, but also learn through practical application.

As the EC penetration rate of apparel in Japan continues to expand, apparel companies are continuously promoting the strengthening of their e-commerce presence, and have high expectations for the growth of Rakuten's fashion e-commerce. Our company is also continuing to make large-scale investments with the aim of achieving very ambitious mid-term goals. This position is within the consulting sales team for over 100 shops operated by Rakuten Fashion. We are looking for someone to be a business partner who can help achieve not only post-launch sales, but also the many goals that the brand sets.

Position Details

We provide consulting sales services to maximize sales of Rakuten Fashion stores and brands that also have stores on Rakuten Ichiba (FLAGSHIP STORE). Rakuten Fashion FLAGSHIP STORE : https://brandavenue.rakuten.co.jp/contents/flagshipstore/

Business Details Each person will be in charge of approximately 30 stores and will be responsible for planning and executing sales expansion strategies for the stores in his/her charge.

  • Share and set sales targets and sales strategies with the stores
  • Market analysis
  • Propose proposals tailored to the store's merchandise and situation, such as advertising to attract customers and campaigns during the sales season to achieve sales targets
  • Analysis of store page access numbers, customer spend, and other figures, etc.   Our clients are mainly company representatives, decision makers, and store operation managers. We work closely with members of other groups within Rakuten Fashion as you make proposals.

Work Environment

Five members are responsible for this project. Due to business expansion, we are recruiting personnel.

This organization is primarily composed of mid-career hires with sales experience and new graduate hires.

Mandatory Qualifications:

  • Sales experience (both corporate and individual) or sales management experience in distribution or retail industry
  • D26Experience of e-commerce business

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience of sales for BtoB sales
  • Experience in the fashion industry
