Garden & Landscaping Supervisor

Job description
The Garden & Landscaping Supervisor will be responsible for supervising the daily gardening and landscaping operations across the resort, including guest areas, villa surroundings, public pathways, back-of-house areas, team member facilities, and other assigned outdoor spaces.
This role requires someone who is practical, organized, proactive, and able to lead a team while maintaining strong attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise the daily work of the gardening and landscaping team.
- Ensure all gardens, lawns, plants, trees, pathways, and landscaped areas are well maintained and presented to luxury resort standards.
- Plan and monitor watering, pruning, trimming, fertilizing, pest control, replanting, and general plant care.
- Maintain villa surroundings, guest pathways, arrival areas, public areas, back-of-house areas, and team member areas in a clean, safe, and attractive condition.
- Support landscaping improvement projects, seasonal planting, and beautification plans.
- Monitor irrigation systems and report any defects or water wastage concerns.
- Ensure gardening tools, equipment, machinery, chemicals, fertilizers, and supplies are properly used, stored, and maintained.
- Train, guide, and motivate team members to deliver consistent quality and productivity.
- Prepare daily work assignments and follow up on completion of tasks.
- Coordinate with Engineering, Housekeeping, Front Office, and other departments for guest requests, maintenance issues, and operational support.
- Identify plant health issues, pest concerns, safety hazards, and maintenance requirements, and report them promptly.
- Ensure safe working practices are followed, especially when using chemicals, tools, and machinery.
- Support sustainability and environmental practices in line with resort standards.
The ideal candidate should have:
- Previous experience in gardening, landscaping, horticulture, or island landscape maintenance.
- Experience in a resort, hotel, or large landscaped property will be an advantage.
- Prior supervisory or team-leading experience is preferred.
- Good knowledge of tropical plants, soil care, irrigation, pruning, pest control, fertilizing, and general landscaping practices.
- Ability to plan daily work, organize manpower, and follow up on standards.
- Hands-on working style with strong attention to detail.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
- Ability to work outdoors in a tropical island environment.
- Positive attitude, discipline, reliability, and a strong sense of ownership.
- Basic English communication skills preferred.
