Job Description 

The Building Manager is responsible for maintaining the security, order, and safety of the DUC and occupants. The Building Manager coordinates emergency procedures within the Centers, serves as a contact, and provides immediate assistance for special events, conferences and other events while providing excellent customer service.  

This position reports to the Building Manager Student Manager and takes direction from the Operations Manager of the University Centers

Compensation 

$12.50/hour 

The University Centers Student Employment Program Wage Classification Scale classifies this position as Division I, Range I. 

 

Required Qualifications 

Applicants must be available to work between 5-15 hours per week during the semester and attend staff meetings and events as necessary, including morning, evening, and weekend shifts.  

They must be capable of working under limited supervision during shifts. 

Students applying for this position must pass a Criminal Background Check initiated by the University Centers. 

Successful applicants must complete Adult CPR, AED, and First AID certification courses within 8 weeks of beginning employment. Certification sessions will be provided by the University Centers. These certifications must be kept up to date throughout employment with the University Centers. Where applicable, Concussion Protocol Training will also be provided by the University Centers and must be completed within the same timeframe. 

 

Preferred Qualifications 

The applicant should preferably have a good knowledge of the campus, University functions, and University Centers operations and policies. 

Preference will be given to qualified candidates with at least two semesters remaining at UWSP. 

 

Education 

The Building Manager must be at least a part-time student (enrolled in a minimum of 6 undergraduate or 5 graduate credits) and be in good academic standing (cumulative and semester GPAs of 2.0 or higher) at the time of hiring and throughout employment.
