Position Summary:
ANSER is seeking a Staff Action Officer to support the Department of Defense Chief Information Officer (DoD CIO). In this key role, you will work in a high-profile position supporting senior DoD official performing tasks in a fast-paced organization with minimal oversight.
This position requires all job duties be performed full-time onsite at the Pentagon with no remote or hybrid work options.
Day to Day Responsibilities:
- Support implementation and continuous improvement of administrative and project management tools and processes across the organization in support of compliant, effective, and streamlined organizational operations.
- Oversee calendars, priorities, and task flow to ensure leadership can focus on strategic responsibilities.
- Prepare agendas, coordinate logistics, capture notes, and track action items through completion.
- Act as a liaison across teams and stakeholders to maintain alignment with leadership, complete tasks, and resolve issues.
- Develop and refine project management process, tools, and best practices to monitor and execute DoD CIO programs, actions, and taskers, ensuring timely progress toward established milestones and reporting requirements.
- Draft and edit products, including talking points, correspondence, and briefings for internal and external audiences, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
- Assist in coordinating governance issuance, processes, and new legislation reviews with other organizations.
- Attend meetings and forums; identify issues requiring higher level adjudication to Senior level CIO leadership; and assist the organization in presenting issues through increasingly higher-level forums.
- Track governance process issues/topics such as the execution of decisions and directives, and inform stakeholders of decisions, directives, and progress on objectives.
- Ensure all official correspondence (e.g., transmittal letters, memos, and presentations) conform to DoD requirements and standards.
- Create, track, technically edit, and/or support Correspondence and Task Management System (CATMS) packages.
- Ensure the smooth functioning of the office, including answering and routing phone calls and greeting/escorting guests, supporting personnel onboarding / offboarding, requesting and managing government-furnished equipment and supplies, coordinating the resolution of IT and network issues, greeting and escorting visitors, and burn bag destruction.
Required Qualifications:
- Possess an active TS/SCI security clearance.
- Bachelor's degree or a High School diploma and 4+ years of experience in field related to tasking (e.g., business administration, project management, information systems, security studies).
- 10+ years of experience as a staff action officer.
- Knowledge of DoD correspondence requirements.
- Recent experience with CATMS or similar task management system.
- Experience working in a senior level DoD front office.
- Operations management and administrative experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in C3 operations, policy and/or governance forums.
- Experience supporting an Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD)-level organization.
