At AECOM, we are currently recruiting a Principal Mechanical Engineer to join our Dublin office.
Here’s what you’ll do:
AECOM is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Principal Mechanical Engineer to join our Dublin team. This leadership role will focus on the delivery of complex, high-profile projects across sectors including healthcare, commercial, education, residential, and infrastructure.
The successful candidate will play a key role in providing technical leadership, ensuring design excellence, mentoring and developing engineering teams, and supporting the continued growth of our mechanical engineering practice in Ireland.
Our projects span healthcare, data centres, commercial, hospitality, education, and civic developments, delivered for both public and private sector clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the mechanical engineering team across Ireland.
- Deliver both standalone and multi-disciplinary projects across a range of sectors, including healthcare and education, with excellence.
- Act as Project Manager on mechanical-led or multi-disciplinary projects.
- Mentor and support engineers and technicians, helping them develop their skills and progress their careers.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, while identifying new business opportunities and strengthening existing partnerships.
- Drive innovation and contribute to the successful delivery of complex engineering solutions, applying creativity and technical expertise.

We are seeking a driven and experienced Principal Mechanical Engineer to join our team in Ireland. This is a senior leadership role suited to a professional with a strong background in mechanical building services and infrastructure design.
As the successful candidate, you will have:
A Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
Chartered Engineer status (or working towards chartership) with a recognised professional body such as Engineers Ireland or IMechE.
Proven experience delivering mechanical engineering projects, including leading technical design and coordinating across multidisciplinary teams.
Strong leadership capabilities, with experience managing engineers and technicians to achieve project deadlines and quality standards.
Demonstrated ability to engage with senior stakeholders and build lasting professional relationships.
