Labourer Non Ferrous Receiver

We are currently hiring a Non-Ferrous Receiver – General Labourer for our site in Sorel. This is a full-time temporary position, Monday to Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with an expected end date of October 2, 2026.

Reporting to the Site Manager, the incumbent is responsible for receiving various types of metals, performing an initial classification, and directing them to the appropriate areas. The role also includes basic administrative support for daily operations.

What you will be responsible for :

• Perform daily opening and closing activities;
• Greet customers and inform them of current metal prices;
• Process payments and answer incoming phone calls;
• Prepare shipping documents and balance the cash register at the end of each day;
• Assist with unloading, sorting, and weighing metals;
• Enter data into the RECY system;
• Operate various equipment, including a forklift;
• Maintain cleanliness of the site and perform other related duties.

To join our team :

• Minimum of one (1) year of experience in a similar role;
• Knowledge of metal recycling (asset);
• Experience operating a forklift (asset);
• On-the-job training provided;
• Ability to work outdoors in hot and cold weather conditions;
• Ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE);
• Ability to sort metals on a table or on the ground.
