Job description

The Regional Director, Resident Care is based in Cincinnati or Columbus, Ohio. This role is instrumental in creating alignment with our mission and core values, supporting the overall resident care and services strategy for the specified region. The Regional Director, Resident Care partners with Operations to ensure resident care services, programs, and initiatives drive desired health outcomes and business results.

In this position, the main responsibilities include:

  • Act as a resource for all clinical leaders and other functional area leaders, and team members regarding all facets of resident care.
  • Collaborate with Operations and other functional areas to manage day-to-day, emergency, and crisis situations in the best interest of the residents, team members, and company.
  • Verify that resident care policies, procedures, protocols, and corporate strategic initiatives are being adhered to by the communities and DONs.
  • Review/edit/approve all state reportable incidents before submission. Assist communities to be “survey-ready” at all times. Performs mock surveys, as necessary.
  • Assist with candidate selection and interviews of care leadership positions. Provide orientation (virtual and in-person) to Care Leadership Roles as needed. Provide ongoing education (especially related to policies/procedures) and mentoring to all care team leaders and team members.
  • May be requested to serve as temporary Interim Director of Nursing at the community level.
  • Regional travel required. Percentage of travel may vary depending on operational needs.

To be successful in this position, we believe that you need the following experiences, strengths, and skills:

  • Current Nursing Licenses for states in the specified region.
  • Five years’ experience in a community or long-term care setting. Possesses geriatric assessment skills. Is knowledgeable in dementia care.  Regional experience preferred.
  • Computer literacy required.
