Job Description:

Location: 179 North Buncombe School Rd, Weaverville, 28787 Suite 102

Shift: Mon-Fri 8an-5pm

  • Schedules all physician office visits, lab, and chemotherapy appointments. Schedules necessary appointments and referrals for existing patients.

  • Ensures patient records are sent to appropriate outside agencies for referrals. Provides patients with pre-appointment special instructions.

  • Contacts hospitals to schedule patient surgery times per physician instructions. Ensures required testing and appointments are finalized prior to the next appointment date or surgery.

  • Answers the telephone in a professional and polite manner and communicates information to appropriate personnel.

  • Responds to voicemail messages promptly.

  • Updates information in the computer system for return patients. Interacts professionally with physicians, patients/families, and healthcare staff.

  • Maintains a good working relationship within the clinic and with hospital departments.

  • Calls patients to remind them of their scheduled appointments 48 hours prior to appointment time.

  • Assists the clinical department with rooming patients, taking vitals, etc., as needed.

  • Other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing [Required]
• Additional languages [Preferred]

Education:
• High School Grad or Equiv [Required]

Field of Study:
• in business, healthcare
• in business, healthcare

Work Experience:
• 1+ medical office experience [Required]
• 1+ surgery scheduling experience [Preferred]
