Job description

This role forms part of the FM Compliance Team, made up of discipline‑specific subject matter experts. As the Fire Technical SME, you will be responsible for overseeing specialised fire safety maintenance activities and providing expert technical advice and performance oversight across the portfolio. The position involves conducting both on‑site and desktop compliance inspections to ensure fire maintenance meets required standards and contractual KPIs. Travel to operating sites, including occasional overnight stays, will be required for audits and inspections.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver specialist fire safety engineering services and provide expert technical advice, information, and solutions to stakeholders regarding fire safety upgrades, issues, standards, policies, and compliance requirements in line with client standards and WA regulations.
  • Ensure Sodexo’s fire vendor contractors comply with CCMS requirements and follow work management strategies aligned with the planned program of works.
  • Support FM Operations Teams by assisting with equipment and process troubleshooting to return assets to service as efficiently as possible. Provide recommendations on repair strategies and improvement opportunities.
  • Promote the efficient use of materials and resources, minimising waste of water, electricity, fuel, and consumables.
  • Provide guidance on relevant regulations, policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Develop, implement, and contribute innovative solutions to complex problems in response to evolving operational needs.
  • Assist with system upgrades, modifications, and the integration of new technologies.
  • Ensure business practices align with current industry standards, RTIO SSE Standards, and reflect best practice.
  • Monitor Maintenance and Inspection Plans, providing insights, trend analysis, and recommendations to support operations and asset performance at the lowest practical cost.

 

 

 

  • Certificate 3 in Fire Protection Inspection and testing (highly desirable)
  • Graduate / Diploma (Fire Safety & Risk Engineering) (highly Desirable)
  • National Police clearance (essential)
  • Current WA C Class driver’s license (essential)
