Job duties
- Analyze internal and external data—including credit bureau, financial, transactional, and application data —to support and refine credit risk policies for underwriting, credit line adjustments, and account-level decisioning.
- Help create best-in-class credit policies and risk management infrastructure.
- Design and manage data reporting frameworks related to credit risk and fraud by partnering with data engineers and analytics teams.
- Contribute to the automation and optimization of credit risk operations by building decision frameworks and supporting risk modeling.
- Conduct data-driven investigations into potential fraud incidents such as identity theft or account takeovers.
- Perform root cause analysis to improve predictive capabilities for credit defaults and risk exposures.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with product, finance, legal, operations, sales, and marketing to develop and implement credit-related strategies and policies.
- May telecommute within a reasonable commuting distance from the New York office.
Education and Experience required: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, Data Science, Business Administration, Engineering, Actuarial Science, Information Systems, or Management Science and 2 years in credit risk analysis or related occupation within consumer or small and medium enterprise (SME) lending.
Background: 2 years of experience in the following
- Deploying a SQL and Python;
- MS office applications;
- Root cause and statistical analysis related to credit defaults and risk exposures;
- Building and maintaining data pipelines, utilizing SQL and Python, that includes data cleansing, wrangling, visualization, modeling, and interpretation related to credit risk and fraud;
- dbt for data modeling and transformation related to credit risk and fraud;
- Working with APIs;
- Designing and managing data reporting frameworks related to credit risk and fraud;
- Create underwriting and risk management strategies;
- Investigating and evaluating efficiency of risk management policies, procedures, and processes; and
- Partner with cross-functional teams to execute credit policies, improve operational tooling, and shape the risk management infrastructure.
Location: New York, NY (May telecommute within a reasonable commuting distance from the New York office)
Rate of pay: $90,000 to $140,000 per year
