As a Social Worker at the Spire School, you'll provide therapeutic, school-based support that helps students in grades 6 to 12 build resilience, strengthen relationships, and engage meaningfully in their education.
You will join a collaborative, mission-driven team focused on whole-student growth. This role blends clinical expertise with educational partnership, ensuring each student’s therapeutic needs align with their academic journey. Your work will directly support individualized learning plans and contribute to a structured, supportive school environment grounded in evidence-based care.
What You’ll Need
- Connecticut School Social Worker certification 071 and active LCSW credential
- At least 3 years of post-licensure experience and 2 years with middle or high school students
- Knowledge of IDEA, IEP development, and special education processes
- Experience using evidence-based modalities such as CBT, DBT, ACT, or MI
- Strong collaboration, communication, and crisis intervention skills
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach that support a small team environment
What You’ll Do
- Deliver individual, group, and family therapy aligned with IEP goals and student needs
- Provide crisis intervention and ongoing therapeutic support to promote stability and engagement
- Collaborate with educators, families, and providers to support student progress and well-being
- Develop and lead psychoeducational groups, social skills programming, and summer therapy sessions
- Contribute to IEP development, admissions evaluations, and multidisciplinary team meetings
