Job description
We're looking for a compassionate and organized Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team in Grand Prairie, United States. As the first point of contact for our patients, you'll play a vital role in creating a welcoming and efficient experience. Your enthusiasm, attention to detail, and commitment to excellent customer service will help ensure smooth operations and positive patient interactions throughout their visit.
- Greet patients with a warm, professional demeanor and direct them through the check-in process
- Answer and manage incoming phone calls, responding to inquiries and scheduling appointments with accuracy and courtesy
- Utilize electronic scheduling systems to book, confirm, and reschedule patient appointments efficiently
- Perform accurate data entry and maintain organized patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Validate and update patient personal and financial information with attention to detail
- Verify insurance benefits and coverage to ensure accurate billing and patient understanding
- Process payments over the counter, handle cash transactions, and maintain financial records
- Prepare, file, and fax patient documents while maintaining strict confidentiality
- Collaborate with clinical and administrative team members to support seamless patient flow
- Multitask effectively during peak hours while maintaining composure and professionalism
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support the overall success of the organization
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1+ years of experience in a medical front office environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Strong telephone etiquette and customer service skills
- Experience with electronic health records (EHR) and medical software systems (preferred)
- Knowledge of HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality requirements
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
- Exceptional time management and organizational skills
- Meticulous attention to detail with strong accuracy in data entry
- Team player attitude with a collaborative and supportive approach
- Flexible, reliable, and adaptable to changing priorities
