Learn About a Day in the Life of a Medical Assistant: Responsibilities The Medical Assistant Non-Certified provides superior patient care and perform s administrative and delegated clinical tasks that support patient s in a clinic-based environment as part of a care team led by the physician and /or advanced practice provider . Qualifications Job Requirements : High school diploma or GED equivalent. Basic Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and Microsoft Office knowledge . BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care. Preferred Job Requirements: Associate’s degree . Graduate from an accredited medical assistant/medical technologist school/program. Prior experience in a clinic or hospital setting supporting patient care Current national certification as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) .
