Overview Our Gallagher Retail Professional Risks Division are seeking a dynamic Claims Handler to join our established team to look after our clients. Our Specialty Professional Risks Division is based in London, and this will be a hybrid role (3+ days/week in the office). Working directly with our clients and placing teams, you will be responsible for delivering high quality, professional advice concerning cyber and financial lines claims. You will exceed clients’ expectations by handling claims from first notification through to conclusion, supporting them through fast-moving cyber incidents as well as more traditional professional risks losses. How you'll make an impact Advise and guide clients throughout the lifecycle of claims across Cyber and wider Professional Risks/Financial Lines (e.g. PI, D&O, ML and FI), ensuring a calm, clear and professional service during what can be a high-pressure and time-critical period. Regularly assess the status of claims with clients, insurers, and relevant advisors (including solicitors, accountants/experts where appropriate, and breach response partners), obtaining and sharing key information as matters develop and advocating on clients’ behalf, if required. Provide appropriate technical advice to clients throughout the claim, including Cyber and Professional Risks/Financial Lines policy coverage/wordings, key conditions and common loss scenarios (e.g. ransomware, data breach, business interruption, and cyber extortion, as well as PI, D&O, ML and FI matters). Encourage, show compassion, and balance client expectations while driving next steps and agreed actions in line with incident response and claims best practice. Maintain and develop your cyber and professional lines market, insurer, legislation/regulatory and technical knowledge, including data protection and evolving cyber threat trends. Run claims efficiently, ensuring time-critical actions are progressed, reserves and key milestones are managed appropriately, and systems are updated with accurate, complete documentation. Ensure claims statistics and management information are accurate and produced in accordance with SLAs (including incident/claim response times where applicable). About You Proven experience handling Cyber claims (and/or Cyber incident response) within a commercial insurance environment; wider knowledge of Professional Risks/Financial Lines business (PI, ML, D&O, Cyber and FI) is beneficial. Cert CII/Dip CII (Chartered Insurance Institute) qualification desirable (or willingness to work towards), educated to A level standard or equivalent; cyber-specific training/certifications are an advantage. Experience within the insurance industry with a technical claims handling focus; comfortable working with insurers, panel solicitors and specialist cyber vendors (e.g. forensics, notification, PR and credit monitoring) as required. Strong client service drive along with forward planning and analytical skills, able to triage information quickly and identify priorities during a live cyber incident. Exceptional communication skills, task focused, able to influence and coordinate stakeholders under pressure, and keen to develop your career in a specialist area. Able to spot coverage, regulatory and reputational risks and seek advice when required; applying due diligence and adhering to company and insurer processes. Eligible to work in the UK.
