The Dental Assistant I supports dental providers by preparing patients, equipment, and treatment areas for procedures. This role assists with chairside duties, takes x-rays, maintains supplies, and ensures a clean, safe, and efficient clinical environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, and materials for dental procedures

• Assist dentists and hygienists chairside during treatments

• Greet, seat, and prepare patients; take vital signs as needed

• Take digital dental x-rays in accordance with safety policies

• Clean and disinfect treatment areas; support instrument sterilization processes

• Maintain inventory of supplies and equipment

• Assist with impressions, digital scans, and lab preparation under supervision

• Perform basic clerical tasks, including posting charges and reviewing schedules

• Ensure compliance with infection control, safety standards, and organizational policies

• Promote patient safety, quality care, and a positive patient experience

Minimum Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent

• Good verbal communication skills

• Maintain BLS certification for continued employment

Preferred Qualifications

• One year of chairside dental experience

• Completion of a Dental Assistant training program or equivalent on-the-job training
