Job description

Lead global supply chain analyses related to Logistics spend, lead time and global service levels. Lead global RFQ’s related to domestic carrier operations, international freight and international brokerage and forwarding services. A leadership position that will offer Managerial Excellence training and present cross-functional opportunities to collaborate with key internal and external VB stakeholders.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (Note: Other duties may be assigned)

  • Lead global RFQ’s including Int’l ocean, Int’l airfreight, Int’l small parcel, domestic small parcel and domestic TL & LTL
  • Relationship manager between VB and 3rd party freight auditing firms
  • General understanding and management of small parcel auditing and dynamics of small parcel pricing strategies
  • Maintain carrier relationships with 3rd party freight vendors, including FedEx, UPS, USPS and other parcel agreements
  • Prepare and analyze statistical data (historic and future trends) for contract negotiations and costing analysis
  • Work with cross-functional supply chain business partners on strategic and ad-hoc projects
  • Relationship and business management of Hong Kong logistics team and affiliates
  • Logistics liaison between operations and ERP / WMS / BI team
  • Provide monthly and ad-hoc KPI reporting to Operations leadership
  • Evaluate existing technology solutions related to global logistics
  • Participate and lead continuous improvement projects
  • Responsible for service levels and corporate deliver lead time reporting

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree from a 4 year university, college or equivalent in supply chain or business
  • 4+ years’ of additional experience specific to retail, transportation and/or distribution fields
  • Experience negotiating with national and regional small parcel vendors
  • Experience of international ocean and airfreight industry, alliances, pricing, services, etc. strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of U.S. customs laws and regulations including classification, valuation, origin, record keeping, and compliance monitoring
  • International transportation experience required

  • Strong PC skills utilizing Microsoft Office applications
  • Self-driven with excellent business acumen
  • Independent decision making and problem solving skills: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions and propose a plan of action to address the root cause
  • Ability to read, understand, and write documents such as operating instructions, procedural manuals, and technical reports. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions via telephone, email, written communication and in person.
  • Team player who is able to lead and motivate employees
  • Ability to influence strategic business decisions across the supply chain

Base Pay Range:

$58,100.00 - $87,100.00

Vera Bradley’s compensation ranges are based on market data and comply with all local, state and federal regulations. Individual pay within the listed range depends on work location, skills, experience, and relevant education. The posted salary reflects base pay only and excludes bonuses, equity, or other incentives, if applicable.
