We invite you to join the world of hospitality at Sheraton Suites Calgary Eau Claire as our new Bartender. The Bartender plays a key role in delivering exceptional guest experiences by providing professional, engaging, and knowledgeable beverage service within our Food & Beverage outlet. This role is responsible for creating high-quality beverages, maintaining bar operations, and ensuring every guest enjoys a welcoming and memorable experience.
Key Responsibilities
Guest Service & Beverage Experience
- Provide consistently professional, friendly, and engaging service to all guests.
- Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to established recipes and standards.
- Take food and beverage orders and deliver items promptly and accurately.
- Maintain strong knowledge of all menu items, including ingredients and preparation methods, to assist guests with selections and dietary needs.
- Anticipate guest needs, personalize service, and create a welcoming bar atmosphere.
- Handle guest concerns or feedback calmly, courteously, and efficiently.
Beverage Preparation & Bar Operations
- Mix drinks in accordance with hotel standards, ensuring consistency, quality, and presentation.
- Monitor and control beverage stock levels, including garnishes, glassware, and bar supplies.
- Ensure proper storage and handling of all beverage products.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area at all times.
- Follow all outlet policies, procedures, and service standards.
Operational Excellence
- Accurately process orders using the point-of-sale (POS) system and maintain guest checks/folios in accordance with policies and procedures.
- Identify opportunities to upsell food and beverage items to enhance the guest experience.
- Complete opening, closing, and side duties efficiently and according to standards.
- Support smooth daily operations by maintaining preparedness and attention to detail.
Team Collaboration
- Work closely with team to ensure seamless service.
- Communicate effectively with culinary and service teams to coordinate timely delivery.
- Contribute to a positive team environment and support departmental goals.
- Participate in training sessions and continuous improvement initiatives.
Safety & Compliance
- Follow all health, safety, and sanitation policies when handling food and beverages.
- Ensure responsible service of alcohol in accordance with provincial regulations.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
What will you bring to this role?
- Minimum 1 year of bartending experience in a hotel, restaurant, or similar environment.
- Valid Alberta ProServe certification required.
- Strong knowledge of beverage products, including cocktails, wine, beer, and spirits.
- Mixology knowledge and skills considered an asset.
- Previous point-of-sale (POS) system experience is an asset.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Highly responsible, reliable, and detail-oriented.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift in a bar environment.
- Frequent reaching, bending, and repetitive motions while preparing beverages and servicing guests.
- Ability to lift and carry bar stock, glassware, and supplies up to 30 lbs.
- Manual dexterity required for drink preparation, including handling bar tools and equipment.
