Job Title: Legal Assistant & Associates Role Overview
- Responsible for administrative and procedural management of personal injury case files.
- Act as a primary contact for clients, medical providers, and insurance adjusters.
- Ensure accuracy in documentation and timely meeting of deadlines to advance cases. Responsibilities:
- Manage organized electronic and physical case files from intake to settlement or litigation.
- Serve as a compassionate liaison, providing clients with regular updates and gathering needed information.
- Order, track, and summarize medical records and billing statements to support cases.
- Draft and proofread legal correspondence, demand letters, and basic pleadings such as motion or discovery shells.
- Handle calendaring of attorney schedules including depositions, hearings, and mediations.
- Monitor all court-mandated deadlines.
- Perform electronic filing in state and federal courts.
- Communicate with insurance adjusters regarding claims, liability, and coverage. Skills and Qualifications:
- Experience: Ideally 1+ years in a personal injury law firm (pre-suit or litigation).
- Education: High school diploma required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Technical skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); familiar with case management software (e.g., Needles, TrialWorks, or similar).
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Personal traits: High attention to detail, ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment, client-first attitude.
- Language: Bilingual in English and Spanish is a significant plus.
