Join our dynamic team as a Temporary Summer Intern, where you'll gain valuable hands-on experience in a professional setting. llinois CancerCare has a student summer intern position available in the Business Office department. Interested students will work up to 20 hours per week for 6 to 8 weeks. Our summer internship program is designed to give high school, undergraduate and medical school students a chance to gain experience in a healthcare facility. Pay: $15.00/hr. Receive mentorship and guidance from experienced team members. Responsibilities What You’ll Do Assisting with checking in patients at the front desk. Processing registration forms for new patients. Other office duties as assigned. Qualifications What We’re Looking For High school or college student. Proficient computer skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Attention to detail and accuracy is required. Special Physical Requirements Manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination. Requires the ability to distinguish and transcribe letters and numbers without transposition. Requires the use of office equipment such as computer, scanner, telephone, copier, printer, fax machine. Ability to work on a desktop computer for extended periods of time. May require working under stressful conditions or working irregular hours. Safety Considerations/Typical Working Conditions Work is performed in a medical office. There may be some interaction with Illinois CancerCare staff and physicians, as well as contact with non-Illinois CancerCare individuals. The employee has limited exposure to toxic substance and is expected to be familiar with the dangers and proper handling of such. The employee may be exposed to communicable diseases and other conditions common to the clinical environment. Safety policies and good health practices are to be understood and observed.
