Job description

Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced princioal  Structural Design Engineer to join our expanding multidisciplinary engineering team at Omrania by Egis. The selected candidate will be based at Egis’s Cairo office, with periodic business visits to our headquarters in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

This role is part of a dynamic, multinational team distributed across Riyadh, Amman, Bangalore, and Cairo. The successful candidate will contribute to high-profile projects across the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the wider region, supporting the delivery of complex structural systems with a focus on design excellence, quality, and innovation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the structural design of large-scale and complex building and infrastructure projects from concept to construction stage.
  • Prepare, review, and validate structural calculations, design reports, and construction drawings in compliance with international codes and local standards.
  • Perform structural analysis and assessments for reinforced concrete and steel structures, ensuring safety, durability, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Coordinate effectively with multidisciplinary teams including architecture, MEP, civil, and landscape to deliver integrated design solutions.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers, guiding their development and reviewing their work.
  • Ensure that projects meet required timelines, budgets, and quality benchmarks.
  • Prepare and present structural reports, technical proposals, and value-engineering recommendations to clients and stakeholders.
  • Stay current with industry best practices, emerging technologies, and changes in local regulations and global design standards.
  • Support quality assurance and safety compliance across all project stages.
  • Engage in client meetings and contribute to business development efforts as needed.

 

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in civil/Structural Engineering from an accredited university
  • Professional Engineering (PE) license or equivalent certification
  • 9 to 14 years of experience in structural engineering, with a focus on large-scale projects.
  • Advanced knowledge of structural engineering principles and practices
  • Proficient in structural analysis and design software (e.g., ETABS, SAFE, SAP2000, STAAD, RAM)
  • In-depth understanding of building codes and standards (e.g., SBC, ACI, AISC, Eurocode, etc.)
  • Familiarity with local building regulations and standards in Saudi Arabia
  • Experience in delivering projects in the Middle East is a plus
  • Excellent coordination, communication, and team collaboration skills
  • Ability to work in a multi-office, cross-cultural environment
  • Strong project management skills and ability to lead multidisciplinary teams
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to present complex technical information clearly
  • Fluency in English is required; Arabic is an advantage
